La Ti Da Spa

Greetings from Florida!!

Hello eveyone,
I arrived today in Florida and immediately began my time at Give Kids the World Village. The Village is absolutely amazing!! It is so expansive and has everything you could want for your dream vacation to Disney. Each family stays in a villa almost the size of a one story home, porch with rocking chairs included. The village features a castle, carousel, ice cream parlor, putt putt course and offers many many activities for the kids to choose from each night! Tonight alone they had the opportunity to meet several Disney Princesses, Goofy, and other Disney characters, celebrate Christmas with Mrs. Claus, watch a Christmas parade through the village, ride a horse drawn carriage, or visit the carousel, ice cream parlor, go swimming, play in the village's very own castle, or of course visit the La Ti Da Spa (where I helped out at).

In the spa Nicole and I provided manicures, airbrush tattoos, face paint, or hand massages, along with another volunteer. Not only were the kids excited to visit the spa but parents were thrilled as well to hangout and loved sharing the details of  their fun filled, carefree vacation to Orlando. Almost every child took advantage of all the services we provided in the Spa, as well as a few parents. While having their nails and makeup done the girls would chat about the princesses they met earlier that day and which parks they have visited during their week in Florida. Next they would get creative while having their faces painted, using different colors and challenging us volunteers in our artistic abilities. They also enjoyed receiving airbrushed tattoos even though they were a little hesitant about what it would be like to get a tattoo ;). And I don't want to forget to mention the gentlemen who visited the spa ready for their tattoos and to let us know all about their visit to Seaworld and Discovery Land where they got to see many types of animals from the sea, especially sharks and stingrays.

Make sure to check out the photos below I snapped of the spa!!
Tomorrow Nicole and I will be serving Breakfast in the Ginger Bread House and working the putt putt course!
Make sure to check back tomorrow for more details about my time at the Village!

Jenny
