Rise and Shine Sunshine

Yesterday morning Nicole and I rose before the birds to go help serve breakfast at the Gingerbread House. From 7:30-11 am we helped the families carry their trays of food to their tables and grabbed anything they may have forgotten on their way through the buffet. All morning we chatted with the families and children about where they were going that day, which Disney characters they had met, which characters they hoped to still meet, and discussed everything else they had already done. My favorite question to ask the children was what was their favorite thing so far. My favorite response to this question came from a 10 year old boy who said "it would probably have to be the great service from all the volunteers here at the village." I loved volunteering at breakfast because it was so fun talking to the families about their upcoming day and watching as the kids eyes would light up with excitement! (The photo below is of the Gingerbread House)

After breakfast we spent 3 hours in an area called Amberville, which the owner of the village (Henri) named after a little girl named Amber who had spent a week with her family at the Village. Amberville consists of an activity center with arcade games, a pool table, xbox, and a wii. It also includes an interactive train room with a huge train village, and a boat control station where the kids can drive mini boats in the pond surrounding the building. Outside is a train that goes around the area, putt putt, and fishing. I loved working at Amberville because it was an awesome opportunity to just have fun with the kids and goof around and play with them.

Today Nicole and I will be spending some more time in Amberville and (weather permitting) will be helping at a Big Blash Party! Make sure to keep looking back for more updates! I am going to try to add additional posts with fun facts and cool information about the village!

Thank you again for all your love and support!
Jenny
